Liverpool are set to snap up Blackburn Rovers defender Lucas Neill for a knockdown £1.5 million next month.
The Guardian says Reds boss Rafa Benitez is cutting his losses and moving for the Australian after learning that promised transfer funds from potential new club owners Dubai International Capital won't materialise until March.
Neill, who is out of contract at Ewood Park at the end of the season, will complete his move to Anfield having almost joined on deadline day in August only for the clubs to fail to agree a fee at the last minute.

More like a signing to accompany his good pal Kewell .
Why is Benitez so keen on this fella who broke not one , but two of our players' leg last season ?
when we have capable replacements on the left ?
