PICTURE SPECIAL: Steven Gerrard makes surprise appearance in Jamie Carragher's testimonial match at Anfield
England manager Fabio Capello allowed Steven Gerrard to make a surprise appearance in Jamie Carragher's testimonial match on Saturday.
The Liverpool midfielder was given the go-ahead to make a brief cameo before returning to the England team hotel to prepare for Tuesday's Euro 2012 qualifier in Switzerland.

Gerrard was joined by the likes of Michael Owen, Luis Garcia and Jerzy Dudek in the Liverpool XI to face an Everton XI at Anfield.
Liverpool fans also had their first sight of Paul Konchesky in a red shirt after he was named on the bench. Current Reds stars Joe Coe and Jay Spearing were also in the line-up.
