I don't think Benitez will move for Barry Ferguson. It's just all tabloid tales. Barry has'nt even settled well in to English football.
More likely coup will be a new striker from Spain.Mista?Morientes? Bigger name signings like Vicente,Ayala may come only after the season ends.Don't think Valencia will allow them to leave midway through a season. -
It's quite clear we need another pure right winger who can run at defence and supplies useful crosses for our taget man Cisse. Kewell is doing too much and Finnan is well.... plays quite conservative still despite hie decent showings.
As much I appreciate Spanish's technical skill and flair... I would like to see some english/scottish bite in the midfield. -
I won't be suprised it will be an Spanish...Like Wenger bring in few of his French countrymen.
Sometime it is not what we buy, what what we sell/release that makes a different...

Well, Morientes has juz dropped his hints...it cld happened as early as January05
The other player on my wish list is Malbranque...one who can jingle n make killer-passes! Also, he mentioned having played with Cisse at U21-lvl. I hope Beni is impressed with his display last nite...esp. the 1st-H. -
I'll love to see Duff at Anfield too.
He is a very good player,capable of opening up defences with his runs down the wings and passes through the defence.
Unlikely that Chelsea will allow him to leave though,since he seems to be figuring regularly in the manager's plans of late. -

After the Fulham game, i find josemi is not that suitable to be a right back, too slow and rash. Notice how Boa Morte suckered him into the tackle that got him sent off? He might be more suitable to replace carragher at centre back and finnan at right back. Anyone have the same sentiments?

He's still on apprentice level with the Premiership , still learning the pace of the English League .
And also the physical level .
I believe he's learning everyday , thru' some "kick-his-ass" hard ways !
Patrcik Viera took almost two seasons to learn the trade in the Premisership , look where he is now !
Those same old say : " Give them time and space , the results will show ! " -

Josemi might be slow... he has steadied the rt-side considerably. Given time, he cld do better. Anyway, tat position shd not be the priority for Jan's signings.
