After 2 years you will get hte after the NSF pay... they will increase your pay every anyway.. by the time you reach for 5th year provided you have not get promoted.. you get your anniversary promotion...

Just a little off-topic. I always had this idea that high-risk jobs like mata will have to pay higher premium for insurance (due to the nature of covering a higher-risk job). So the extra $$ u earn goes into these kind of extra costs.
Just a thought.

I think in any economic downturn, it's always the same. People turn to more stable jobs like the govt but when economy gets better, people leave for the private sector.
I have seen cases where 16-18 year olds sign on in the army as they are still "lost" (not knowing what they want in life yet..lacking clear directions in life) and when they are in their 20s and see their friends outside, they think "Why am I wasting my life in SAF".

Well.. sometimes as we grow older, we view things differently and have different priorities.
