Hi guys,
Any of you who have served in the SPF can please enlighten me?Recently while working at Orchard,quite often I see a group of uniformed policemen patrolling,but then in this group will have one or two wearing white top and berets not the peak caps.And they have a walkie talkie,handcuffs and t-baton,but no revolver.At first I mistook them as the building's security guards,but then again...realised that they even go patrolling with those in blue uniform.So who are these bunch of people?What unit do they belong to? -

VC?Nope,doubt so,my teacher is VC,but he wears the standard blue uniform and is armed.

Might be confused there, your teacher might be VSC, while the person you saw is a VC.

VSC is volunteer... VC is NS... VC dont carry arms.. VSC does...

VC (Vigilante Corps) for NS folks who are lacking in educational qualifications. VSC (volunteer Special Constabuluary) for anyone with at least O level, and they look no different from your regular cop except they might tend to look aged and/or blur.
The two Vs very different hor. I get hot under the collar everytime anyone calls me a VC! -

The establishment apparantly thinks they are too dumb to know how to handle a weapon properly...all because they cant speak good English or do their spontaneous equations. You might want to remind them this is the 21st century, but oh well....
