Are private diplomas recognized by SPF? what category do private diploma holders go to when they enlist upon signing on..corporal or sergeant?

I was just educated about the fine lines in civil service yesterday
The first cert you step out to work ... civil service will use that as a basis for your future in the organization not matter what further studies you do from hence onwards and even at your own expense and time. But I am not sure if there was any changes to the system but this is what the saf guys said ... -

whatever you show as your cert and qualification upon signing on is the element that will make or break you in the future with the organisation?
so even if i get a private degree during my tour of duty with the service im bonded to..directly speaking, its just useless?

but study for the sake of self improvement and for your own future. ..

i plan to make it in STAR..qualifications doesnt really matter down there..for how long? as long as I can fulfill the job responsibility to the best of my ability. but wat u said is kinda surprising but not shocking. thanks for the info.

I dont think STAR team members even need to make sure they can do their simultaneous equations...so who cares!

I had a friend who took a private degree course thinking he may be converted to an officer but it never happened. So he just quit after the end of his 6 year contract and moved on to the private sector.

My company has a silent message as well. If you don't kiss ass, you are not white american, you are simply another worker with no "close friends" with the management or directors, and you're not happy, there will never be any opportunity or promotion, the company will be pretty happy to replace you with some cheap india labour... that's the truth and lost of good people had left... for me, I'm waiting for my serverence package when they retrench me.
