cant sign on because passed out??

hi,
im an nsf and had applied to join the PO just a few wks before I enlist. I had managed to attend the interview screening during my recruit time. But on my POP week, which is around 4 to 5 wks after I attend my 1st interview, the police officer from the recruitment dept. called me, on top of the rejection letter, and said that they cant take me in because i've passed out and had been assigned to my vocation. And cant make it for the March 15th intake. It has something to do with the rule that in order for you to change your organisation, it must be done during the recruit life period. And they advised me to apply again for the position of PO 2 months before I ORD..which is waaayy still. Is there such a rule? I'm so pissed off! Because I am still undergoing training for my vocation which makes me a TRAINEE - what is the difference between a recruit and a trainee? it's not like i've passed the course and been assigned a specific duty..then if thats the case for not being able to jump ship, it is understandable. but right now im still a trainee... WTH IS WRONG HERE?! can someone knowledgeable abt the system answer???

one of my frens told me that if u're out of BMT, u cannot choose to sign on other depts..

eg. Pass out from Tekong cannot sign Police. Must wait till NS over.

eg. Pass out from Tekong can sign Army.

yup... most of my NS friends.. they ORD then sign on.. but you dont have to go to basic training and your bond is 2 yrs... and your promotion is faster as well.

- But if you think in the long run you will gain if you get in when you are a trainee instead of passing out.... =) My friend in RSN less than5 years geting his 3rd promo already....
