  CPIB officers are vested with full police powers leh. Although they report directly to the PM and the President rather than to the Home Affairs Ministry.

  Oh yes, the CPIB can investigate and arrest anyone and everyone whom it suspects is involved in corruption. Not only on policemen, but even on the cabinet ministers (that's why CPIB does not report to Ministry of Home Affairs unlike the police force.. so that the PM can direct it to investigate any minister, including Home Affairs.)
  
  Furthermore, the President also has the authority to direct CPIB to investigate anyone, including the PM himself. The CPIB will then report to him directly.
  
  The purpose of all these measures is of course, to ensure that even high level corruption can be investigated and the involved parties arrested.
