May i ask you : when you get injured, whats your priority?
(1) get attention to your injuries as soon? or
(2) apprehend the culprit as soon?
And why when the police seek for members of public to be witness of the case most of them actually act as if they saw nothing? So how to help that person that was being assault?

Prolly this slow response time is caused by bad and inefficient lines of admin, but that is quite irrelevent.
imo, the SPF needs to pull its socks up. -
ambulance no need rush from a scene to another, they get despatched from the hospital to the scene, majiam on stand-by but POs attending case, have to go to the scene from the last case scene. dats the diff....

And btw, you might be happy to know the SCDF have a much more stringent time limit to adhere to....much shorter then our 30 mins. So quit comparing. Why dont you go complain why some babies pop out of their mother's womb faster than others instead? -

Yes, maybe inefficient is not an accurate description for the situation. Let's just say a 30 min response time is unacceptable to Shade and to me. Is 30 mins the response time the SPF is aiming for? I certainly hope not!
Singapore isn't a huge country. As such i really do not see the rationale for setting such a slow response time. Maybe we need more cops on the beat and on patrol? -

And POs are never on "standby" when there is no case....sleeping in the station waiting for someone to call 999. POs are expected to be patrolling somewhere at anytime, and when a call comes, it means rushing from where ever he may be to the point in qn. I have had situations in which we had to rush from Barley rd area to Sengkang...because their resources all busy. when you need real help, they came late. Their service pledge is to arrive within 15 minutes urgent cases and 30 minutes for non-urgent cases.
Once, my house got a snake, then came 3 police cars with about 9 officers. Funny right, 3 officers were trying to catch. the rest were standing near the gate. One of them even talk on the mobilephone with don't who the hell.
Then there is once my house got intruder. I called 999 and they came in 10 minutes. Very fast. But imgaine 3 cars of officers surrounding one intruder? I use the word surrounding and that's true.
All these shows how SPF is so efficient. -
I have a question for huaiwei.
For example a population and land area of a particular estate is big, I as the public presume that SPF should have more resources of PO and Fast Response Cars (FRC). Right? If the estate is small, there should be a standard average of PO and FRC.
Your example quoting Sengkang. Sengkang is now so big area, that is why they have just built Sengkang NPC next to Compass Point. Thus, there should be a minimum number of PO and FRC.
For nowadays, NPCs are open from 1200 - 2000. The police say that in this case, more PO can patrol. But I don't see any differences. -

Can I correct a bit of your reply.
SCDF Ambulances are despatched from the nearest fire post/ fire station and seldom from hospital. Unless the ambulance is on the way back to their station and suddenly there is a ER call but no ambulance is available from the station.
We do understand that the traffic may sometimes be heavy but you see, SCDF introduce Fire Bikes & Paramedics Bikes. That means they can get to the scene before the arrvial of others.
