Btw.. if i enter VSC, since i did my training for VSC, then next time if i want to apply for Full time PO, do i have to go for the 6 months training again??

Yes. there are some skills which ONLY regular officers will learn.

got another question, is police allowed to smoke? even if there are adult about 18 or 21.. including those high rank PO~

Yes, can. As long as don't do it in uniform, or during duty, can liao.
but not advisable, as smoking destroys your health. good health is one of the essentials of a PO.

no la.. I DONT SMOKE and i HATE SMOKE! u can ta han the smell of smoke meh? my father always smoke and sometimes when i smell the smoke i may ki siao and scold my father.. LOL.. no la.. i just went thru the threads and saw a guy talking about the psychometric test i think.. and say they may ask question like what will u do if u saw supervisor smoking.. then at that time i was thinking, "i tot as long as above 18, can smoke le?".. so i wanna confirm, in case they really ask me this question in the interview or wad..

I also can't stand smokers.. I have very little respect for superiors who do smoke.

oh~.... same.. i tried to convince my father not to smoke, he give reason like he dun smoke he will die earlier =.=.. then i tell him u smoke u die more even earlier and i may die with u! haha.. cause even if i dun smoke, if i smell the smoke in, i get more chance of having cancer,<-- (this is what was taught by school) haha.. but about respect, mMhz.. i think still ok bah.. my father smoke but i still respect him.. LOL.. If my frenz smoke i still befriend them, but, okok la... dun smoke in front of me can le..

oh~ good to hear that.. cause i injured my lower spine at the butt there quite a few times le.. and sit up is not very good for the spine too, i heard, and saw from a webby~

Sorry.. i got a question about entering SPF academy or to become police~ Do my parent need to spend time to go to meet the Sir/Madam to know more about me? cause i scare my parent wont have the time~ they are always busy, even saturday and sunday they have to work~

At this stage, join VSC for the purpose of trying out police training while continuing your studies. You need your certs 100% or else you are as good as worthless, be it in the eyes of the SPF, private sectors, gahmen and in fact the public at large.
I won't be surprised if you decide that police work isn't all that glamorous and you regret it.
This urge to join SPF is a temporal, one that will stick with you for the rest of your life. I sugges you put aside that urge and focus on your studies.
It may seem fun to you at this time, but to be doing the same mundane tasks day after day, without much hint of any promotion is very very sickening. You will feel unappreciated especially when you see younger and your equal level colleagues who have better qualifications move on to better positions, and you stuck there for 5-8 years in the same rank. How does being an o leveler in the same rank for such a long period compared to just a couple more years of completing your NITEC.
Do what you want, just don't regret when comes the day you wished you followed all these posts.
EDIT: Oh ya, remember that being a bottom feeder in any organisation means that people will step on you and you just have to accept it, even more so in a uniformed organisation. Your superior reprimand you for the slightest infringements, you just have grin and say yessir, it won't happen again sir, no sir, its all my fault, yessir, i'm useless. -
Hmm, i seriously got a question after reading all the threads ...
If most ppl take the advice here, get a degree and go in SPF, we will end up having more SPOs than JPOs. As SPOs rarely do frontline work, will it really strain the force? -
i know that police work is difficult.. by right, every jobs have their difficulties and hardness.. i believe that even i dun become a police and work other place, i will still have hard time.. you think got easy job de meh? even cleaner of a little salary, the work can be hard and tiring too~ next time i go out society work i still have to take that kind of hardness.. a lot of teenagers use studying to escape working or even NS.. i just think that, "no this need" .. i can just start working part time or volunteer to gain working experience while young.. since i am interested in police, and there is police volunteer.. i would like to try.. btw, did you know that i am now deciding to enter for VSC rather than full time? of course i am still continuing to studying full time~Originally posted by pwnz0r:At this stage, join VSC for the purpose of trying out police training while continuing your studies. between, i dun believe a PO cant perform as great as SO or wad lor.. as long as you work hard and gain more experience..

hi~ my friends here~.. i have yet to receive any news from SPF or VSC department~ but i wont give up.. maybe i am only 17 so they didnt consider me much... but.. my father suggest me to study casino management courses.. should i take up? i am a o lvl grad now.. do SPF recognise cert from this casino course? i will like to study this course and take up VSC first.. any advice or opinion?
