Hi guys,
If i'm serving NS in SAF now, can i still sign on as a police officer in SPF? Anyone knows the answer?
You need to finish your NS first, then can sign onto the police force.
hey saw form ur other post regarding the cnb thingy, got a question for you, which seriously i doubt most people xept an AG have the answer. Anyway here goes : i know for a fact that a singaporean can be convicted of drug consumption regardless of the country he/she had taken it. but what if the taking of the drug in that country is legal and complied with the laws of that country? i.e holland, U.S(medicinal marijuana), etc? Will the singaporean still be liable for a chargable drug offence in singapore? if so what are the powers of the singapore jucidiary over a singaporean?
it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a person to be bounded by the laws of his/her home country when in a sovernign foreign country???
not really. anything that happens overseas will bind you to the laws of the said country. there will be no offence disclosed in Singaporean law.
then u problably are ignorant to the laws of singapore. Haven't u heard of people being arrested at the woodlands checkpoint and subjected to urine inspection at the cnb?

you heard of that? you are very knowledgeable than.
the law is there in case of any loopholes where the subject did drugs outside the country. if it is legal in holland, there is no problem.
have you heard of cnb randomly subjecting people to urine test at checkpoint?

if in this case, since subjected to urine inspection, then those are suspected of having consumed drugs. after the urine tests they will be free to go. released on bail.
their status will be dependent on the results of the drug test.
anyway, they would have been arrested because they appear to have consumed drugs, and they are on Singapore soil at that point in time. that's why they would have been arrested.
two different things mate.
for instance, if you were the victim of an armed robbery overseas, and would like to lodge a police report here, there is nothing the Police here can do. SIngapore law has no jurisdiction overseas.
Your drug example is a different one altogether.
have you heard of cnb randomly subjecting people to urine test at checkpoint?
yes i have n witness one firsthand myself when my the sister of my malaysian co worker was arrested at the customs for urine inspection

did it seem random to you?

u dun seem to understand my question, as i said if the consumption of the said drug is lawful in the country at where it was consumed, is there

seriously i dunno why r u even saying this? as i see no relavance to my question at all
