I just finished the psych session and next up is the panel interview (is it like a confirm get to the next stage thing?). Any hints/tips would be appreciated :)

psych stage is a no fail stage so yes panel interview will be next. but panel inteview, as you would have known from the forum, is the toughest stage so just be prepared for it.

i'm sure it should be good news for u (just my opinion.. no guarantees), except tt the next intake could be in sept/oct as some of the other forum members have mentioned. no news is good news for now.

Yeap, I think it will be gd news for you, james.wlr. as the next intake is end sept/ oct, they wont ask you to sign bond etc so early, I think.

Haha. Yea. Jus stand down from NDP Deployment for reservist. Tiring but it's a good catch up time with others! Hope we'll be involve in next year NDP! Recruitment process pls be faster..
my senior officer entry on career@gov is no longer there. that's how long the process has stretched, more than 6 months.

Just received the call to attend AD dialogue session 1month after SA. I would like to find the type of questions they ask in AD dialogue so I can better prepare myself.
Anyone with prior experience can share with me? =)

Dialogue with AD is to find out more about you, why u wanna join police, what do you know about the police force. The might also ask you some of your leadership skills and achievement during NS or CCA days. It's a pass/fail stage so answer truthfully as best as you can.

Hi guys, it has been a while since I've been here. I've just passed out from HTA sometime back. Anyway, I was in the same predicament as you all a year ago, checking the forum and career@gov everyday. Haha. If this is of any help, everyone who applied to be a SPO have to go through the same wait (except the scholars I guess). The same applies to me. No doubt the wait can be agonizing but hang in there but I think MPD (manpower department) is doing their best to choose the best officers around to join the force.
Anyway to help those who are still not sure about the processes:
1. Assessment - the advice will be to get enough rest the day before because the test can be quite draggy. It will last about the whole day.
(Pass/ Fail stage)
2. AD dialogue- the dialogue is a 2- man panel asking you questions pertaining to why you join SPF. It will be good if you know how SPF works because it shows that you have passion about it. It will last about 10-15 min.
(Pass/Fail Stage)
3.Psychology Assessment - A psychologist from PPSD (Police Psychologist Service Department) will talk to you and also clarify certain questions you answered during the first stage. And probably some of your background. It will last about 1 hour.
(Non fail stage)
4.Board Interview - It will be a panel of 7 officers including 3 Cmdrs/Directors from any division/department. It is quite similar to AD dialogue but some of the questions can get quite sticky. Also, they might ask some questions which are awkward for you. I guess all they want is to test your reaction. It will last around 30-40 min.
(Pass/Fail stage)
5.Medical- It will be at Raffles Medical and they will take your ht and wt and also blood pressure, and BLOOD (ok, I dont like needles, so i hated it) . They will also have a checklist to check on ur posture etc. Like those health check up in primary school. I went on a non peak period, so it lasted around 1hr.
(not sure if it is pass/fail stage, but heard rumours about people failing it)
My whole process lasted around 6 months after I graduated.
Bond signing
Vital will contact you upon your clearing of medical to sign bond. You needed 2 sureties. If I did not remember wrongly, parents can be your sureties as long as they earn about a certain sum a month. (Have to check with vital).
After which they will tell you your reporting date, which squad you will be in and who is your course manager. They will give you your course manager number as well. Your course manager will also contact you.
Pre-training
You will be call to go for an orientation and tour. They will also settle some adminstrative stuffs.
Things to bring for training
- A few white shirts and black pants (in case they cant issue you uniforms due to shortages)
- White socks
- Polishing cloths
- Hangers
- Clothes peg
- 3M stick on hanger ( in case your bunk doesnt have any)
- Shampoo/Shower gel
- Extention wire ( up to you )
- Electric water kettle (if you dont take tap water. water cooler can be quite far)
- Smart phone is allowed
The rest will be issued in due time. ( within the week you enlist.)
Training
If you can get through till this stage, you should be able to get through training. Training is fun and enjoy the fullest. Trust me.

As of now, no confirm date. I called recruitment this afternoon, they told me that they wanted to schedule me for 23rd aug. but I can't make it due to overseas. So the next will be on 29 Aug. those are the tentative dates. Not confirmed dates. Once cfm, den they will send out notifications. So u may get 23rd Aug Panel. Do update me when u got ur date okay?
We won't be in time for sept and oct batch if we are successful. Maybe Nov batch as advised by recruitment.
