hi all , can give me advise on signin on with the singapore police force?, i interested to know abt how is the 6 mths bmt life ? , and issit tat mostly after ur 5 or 6 yrs bond had finsihed spf would galdly rebond u if u have ok or good performance ?, and hows is life after being posted to units? wat do u do everyday? issit shift work? how is the shift work like ? work 2 days off 1 day? appreciate ur inputs

they said hor after the "BMT" in police academy.
u can choose 3 routes, namely NPC (Neighbouhood Police Centre), PCG (Police Coastal Guard) or join the Police Dog Unit.
for NPC hor, is work 2 days rest 2 days... wat i mean by work 2 days rest 2 days?
day 1 - work 8a.m to 8p.m
day 2 - work 8p.m to 8a.m
day 3 - this day is supposed to be ur rest day
day 4 - off day
from wat i noe... SPF dun have rebonds for those who r already bonded (this 1 not very sure, have to check wif other forum pple).
last time the policeman told me is after the bond, if u want, juz carry on in SPF till u r 50 yrs old n that's when u retire...
1 thing i heard from my neighbour who's a policeman..
if u go NPC hor, n suay suay got public complain abt u...
u can forget abt promotion liaoz...
can say no future liaoz le...
all these r wat i noe n may NOT be correct...
need other forum pple to confirm...

then after 6 mths (i think) then can request for transfer to other department. -

really top of the top, score all distinctions always but he failed the 1st interview lehz...

for poly guys hor... last time open house the policemen told me for poly guys best to sign on during feb - april b4 u get ur results... -
ya .. i am a poly student, nowdoing the final sem, ya , looks like i am in the period u tok abt, currently i applied thru the net, then 2 days later they called to ask abt where i study and last sem, and PES status, as i have yet to go for check up , then they said wait for 1-3 for a interview date,
oh my .. from wat u said... like not easy, my results borderline 1 ,, and yeah! any one sucessfully sign on ?? need advise on the interview, and yes i am very interested to be a police man!! -
If you're shortlisted for the interview. wat they cares is ur attitude towards working as a police officer...
as long as u get ur diploma n u have a gd attitude, i dun c y u cant get into the Police Force... -

abt the difference for the 6 mth basic training at TRACOM(Training Command) as compared to army, its diff to explain to u unless u experience army life before....
basically regardless wat time the dae starts, it will end ard 5.30pm.. and after that will be dinner and OTOT(own time own target) for most of the nights, u will be having every wed off(which is known as lights off, where u book out ard 530-6 and come back abt 9-1030pm the same dae), u will also be able to book out on alternate fridays at abt 530-7pm till 9-1030pm on Sun....
the training will mostly be split into two halfs, the morning and the afternoon.... so its either u training(which includes arms training, defence tactics, swimming etc) in the 1st half and lessons(law, police procedures etc) in the other half or vice versa....
so after 6mths training will depends on where u choose to go when u are given a choice to opt during training(thou not guarantee)... so wat happens after that regarding the shift work or working pattern perhaps when u decided to opt for which particular dept or before u are posted u can post another thread and i will explain to u again? -

You will have 2 choices where you can have 1 for the specialised unit and the other for the Division. It actually depends on the available spaces in the units, if the unit doesn't needs any more people, there won't be any intake for that batch.
The above mentioned are the specialist units that one of the batch has gone into. Good luck to you. -

i wish to add on
its not that hard to pass it loh
as long as u are keen to get in
u will pass
thats my point of view
first interview is mostly your physical check and some physcology check
second is on your attuitude towards SPF
if u pass this two, u will receive a letter to ask u go down aramda hotel there for check up
and if u reach this stage, u are 80% in the force

alright, juz recieved the letter for the 1st interview, and shit, it clashed with my common test , argh,, looks like got to change date, my fren changed date b4, and waited longer for the 2nd date, sianz
