abt the difference for the 6 mth basic training at TRACOM(Training Command) as compared to army, its diff to explain to u unless u experience army life before....
basically regardless wat time the dae starts, it will end ard 5.30pm.. and after that will be dinner and OTOT(own time own target) for most of the nights, u will be having every wed off(which is known as lights off, where u book out ard 530-6 and come back abt 9-1030pm the same dae), u will also be able to book out on alternate fridays at abt 530-7pm till 9-1030pm on Sun....
the training will mostly be split into two halfs, the morning and the afternoon.... so its either u training(which includes arms training, defence tactics, swimming etc) in the 1st half and lessons(law, police procedures etc) in the other half or vice versa....
so after 6mths training will depends on where u choose to go when u are given a choice to opt during training(thou not guarantee)... so wat happens after that regarding the shift work or working pattern perhaps when u decided to opt for which particular dept or before u are posted u can post another thread and i will explain to u again?

Thanks for quoting. Whoa, sounds like a good deal to join the police. So many time off.Originally posted by FireIce:
Nope, i didn't attempt the nafa test at all. Hence my extra 2 months enlistment. I guess we'll probably be trained during that 2 extra months and have a test at the end of it.Originally posted by stem_-_daimyou_asobi_hen:hey hey !! i also enlisting to the PA at 16 march .. i am to report at 8.30a, .. wat time u need to report ? btw i fail nafa n juz found out that todae is the last dae to retake !! too bad ~~ do they ask u to retake ur nafa once u get in there ?

Heh, maybe someone should draw out a list of 'To-Bring' list of what's essentiable in there and put it as sticky so that future people enlisting into PA would find it handy.Originally posted by doghouse837:cause during this 6 months
u learn alot of law
the DOs and DONTs of a police officer
dont worry
life at TRACOM is so much relax compare to NS
Yeah you have to do extra 2 months as you didn't pass your napfa test. Don't worry too much, coz after about 3 mths, you wont have to work as hard as when the tmie you came in.Originally posted by Alva Noto:Heh, maybe someone should draw out a list of 'To-Bring' list of what's essentiable in there and put it as sticky so that future people enlisting into PA would find it handy.
And a brief outline of life in the academy like what to expect on your first week and so on and so fourth. Or maybe it's not a good idea since curiosity kills the cat.

Things to bring:
A [b]personal lock for your own locker.
Hangers to hang your dirty and clean clothes
Towel, Soap, Shampoo for you to bathe
Discman, magazines incase you get bored in the evening, there's also the canteen beside the range where you can buy food after 7pm. You must be properly attired in your walk-out attire when you go into the canteen.
Bread, Biscuits to eat when you are hungry.
Cloth to polish your boots before walk-outs or book-outs.
Shaver you will need to shave every morning.
Tissue paper for you to clean up the mess.
Alarm Clock you might need to wake up at 6am every morning.
Stationery to be use during lessons.
Things not to bring:
Instant Noodles, they will confiscate it if they found it. But the canteen is selling at $1.40.
Lighter, you can say that you use to polish your boots.
Cigarattes, confirm confiscate if found.
Charger, no chance given when found by sentry guard.
will update if i think of anything new, or the moderator can update for me.
