1) does police ns ptp held in the police academy?
2) i have a friend who considering turing police for ns in stead of army (he noe needs to do 5 years), he is 1.74cm 53kg pes b
can he 'defect' from army to police in order to fulfil his ns?
can he be qualified for police ns?

Yes, the ptp would be held in the police academy.
If he has not recieve his enlistment letter yet, he can serve his ns in the spf provided he signed on for a contract with the spf. The spf would then consider him for a interview later on. Also, he would need to be either pes A or B with the minimal height of 1.7m and 53kg in weight. -

he is about the same weight as i am before i go in

here are the answer :-
1) yes, indeed the police force had ptp long time back. its known as Prep Course here(pls dont ask me why they choose this name), as for those whom had clear their IPPT before admit for NS will be known as FIT squad.
2) for police NS, i do wish to state again. for NS its all being sort out by cmpb and spf way before you are required to be enlisted. there are no way to choose where you want to go as they have no requirements unless after medical, they classified you as pes F then you will never get enlist.
as for wat you have stated of your friend, i happen to have the same weight, height except i pes A when i join the SPF years back. as for fulfil the NS, pls refer to my above para. but if he considering of being a regular in the SPF then he is qualified and pls advice him to send application to the SPF as soon to avoid inconvenience cause to himself.

He cant. but it is not NS. it is regular which means more responsibility, in turn means a wrong move and it is bye bye to you. -

i remember there is still a chance for you to choose where you will want to go... but of course is subject to availability..... do ask your OC squad for more information...
i dont believe most of them will go desk job... you have to depand which month you are posted out.... i shall quote it about 50% for desk duty? -

as for "F" div, they will need more man power
as sengkang is going to open soon
and sudden decrease of manpower in other NPC in "F" div to fill up the place in sengkang, they are hunting for man
so guess ppl have high chance to go NPC and patrol around -
how neighbourhood policing??? i find it extremely boring.. plus all the CSSP and CIS must key in... better get places like orchard...24/7 guarenteed action
