Bomb Supression Blanket

how u guys think about this newly equipment that spf had just brought
cost around 7k each set
made from from the same material of the bullet proof vest
but its in cross stitches
come with one GRP stand.
and do they think that the PO will use the blanket when they find a object??
thats my question -
actually, i wanna know how a blanket can supress a bomb?
a bomb thingy where you place a bomb into, and let it detonate safely is about 5 to 10 tons already... -
works on the same theroy as a greanade and some one use his body to cover it
they tested in overseas
and they are happy with the results -

and that blanket will be blown sky high and into orbit...

1 short ton = 1000 pounds

This reminds me of this southpark episode where people use blankets to cover themselves when volcano erupt... If bomb come liao, you got time to cover?? Unless you say let civilian protect themselves, but 7k x 4million. Would the government do that? In times of war only 2 choice, die or don't die...
