Maybe all find it a waste of time writing in here, where that Joshua1975? It true know, no one in my house know what number to the NPP or NPC to call but just 999. I just another Singaporean like many other I think that they are like me. I think SPF can just do what SPF has always done and look like the jam on 999 is acceptable to all in blue in here and the top brass in blue also. Be it, I have no time to call 999 as well, if some thing going on in or around Singapore, I will also be called back but I am in green

I am sorry to hear that you actually experiance such bad service provided by SPF... although i am not from the HQ or representing the management...
but there is something u can do....
do write in to our SQB(service quality branch) and feedback to them about the poor service you have experiance.... cos its not easy for SPF to attain SQA(Singapore Quality Award) and there are certain officers that actually spoiling the image of the SPF while majority of them are working hard to maintain the standard..... i asure u that you will get response from us if you consider writing in......

every NPC gives out pamplets during their official opening, inside got a sticker that lets u know the NPC's telephone number. alternatively, when u walk pass a EPP/NPP, feel free to go in and ask for a sticker loh....normally the number is your residential area's 3 number prefix followed by 9999 loh...Originally posted by HALI:Maybe all find it a waste of time writing in here, where that Joshua1975? there is a difference there. NPP is only single manned therefore no matter what happens, he/she cant leave his post. And perhaps you should at least find out what is your nearest NPC is. ALso it depends what kind of message you tell the operator. ETC noise pollution, dispute which are normally non-urgent messages. therefore will be place as low priority compare with theft and other more urgent cases. -

pls dont cause of a small % of ppl that did wrong thing and u look down on the force
its not fair
friend, if u are inside the force, u will know all the reason why sometimes police attend to case so late
for example, i had my attachment at orchard NPC for 2 weeks, during the two weeks, i work more than 16 hours per shift
and without any breaks in between, that meants keep working non stop for the shift
so u also have to think about that, after all we are still human, we do need breaks. maybe the officer just finish break then go and attend to your case
and sometime it depend on the operator to send the message and send resouces to the place where police assistance needed
as for orchard npc, bukit timah npc resources usually being send to attend cases in orchard when all orchard resouces are engaged.
and for bukit timah resources to reach orchard area, they need more time
that may also explain why some times they need longer time to reach your place -
lucky they never call KJ one to go down... i got attend one KJ message before though.. was a saturday night.. guess MS is having some sort of huge "happenings" hmmm...

MS usually alot of happening loh
as u work in orchard NPC, u know there is a few hot spots
orchard plaza, orchard towers and MS is the 3 hot spots in orchard place
thats why ECHO ppl need to stand by there at sat nights -

Err....I am not trying to make this sound like an excuse, but due to set procedures, when you call in for help, even if it was an emergency via 999, the message will be sent to the nearest "eeyor eeyor car." Depending on how far that car is from your said location, the traffic conditions on the roads, the number of mobiles put on the roads to serve your locality, and even the number of cases which they happen to be attending to at that time, it is difficult to guarantee that the car will reach you as soon as you expect them to.
So why not just get someone out of the NPP/NPC itself? Well the thing is that the officers manning the counters are not expected to "abandon post" and leave the counter empty (it is not uncommon for an NPP to have only one officer manning it), unless perhaps you rush into a station and ask for help, and the officer decides it is within reasonable grounds to respond (like a murder attempt). But two things to point out here. First, it is not advisable for officers to go alone outside counter duties, let alone responding to an emergency. Second, the ""eeyor eeyor car", or shall I call them them by their official name: Fast Response Car (FRC), dont just ferry officers. They also have with them all sorts of documents and equipment, which are usually neccesary to carry out their duties without hinderence.
I noe it sounds illogical for so much redtape lah, but what to do. Civil service is like that one mah. But then again, while we hear lots of complaints about officers arriving late, how many of you would actually bother to commend those who did arrive on time, since it is kinda expected from us? Hence, do the lack of commendation result in giving people the impression that the SPF cant respond quickly enough most of the time?
