Changes to the uniform....any updates?

When you go down to PA one of these days , try observing the mangkoks on sentry. They should be wearing the uniform with the velcro name tag. -

In my opinion, in SPF, more recognition is given to the inidividual. He is regarded as a team member, someone who can contribute. As long as he is capable, he is up to it.
In SAF,in general, they are so particular about rank. Many soldiers are just ranks in the orbat.

Yes, I agree with that wholeheartedly. Having served NS in the army, and now volunteering in the SPF, its almost a cultural clash. I still have to get used to the idea of calling a SSGT by name, when I am a CPL myself. -

Well I did a study on one of the NPC in Delta for one of my modules before. This is precisely what went on. My friends that have served their NS in SPF also told me this. Somehow what I feel is that the atmostphere in SPF is pretty much comparable to what I am experiencing in my reservist in SAF. Only commissoned officers are addressed as "Sir". Some of them can't be bothered even if you call them as "eh", " siao eh" and some other nicknames.. haha..
Sergeants and Staff Sergeants feel paiseh if you address them by ranks.
However, this does not mean that we are ill disciplined? We still get things done, our IPPT passing rate is still pretty good .
THis is so different from my active days in SAF. All those screaming and shouting by the various Enciks....
Conclusion?? Team work, empowerment, mutual respect defintely makes it more enjoyable an environemnt to work in as compare to senseless screaming and shouting. -
Also many of them..also come thru the ranks..plus working together it is better to emphasie more on teamwork...

That's why I feel that as compared to their army counterparts, SPF officers are working in a better environment. Shouldn't complain too much?

Just found out from my LO that my tailored set of uniform will be the new kind with the velcro...
But then I have been waiting for over 2 months liao, and it is still not ready!

dont know about prisons..dont even know when they going to use the new uniform.. yet to go to store to change it...
