Confirm transfer to NPCC... hahaha

Interestingly, I am actually wearing my NPCC one for duty, coz the tailor is still taking their own sweet time to make my replacement!
Not surprisingly, my friends that served NS in Police also told me that. Their NPCC uniforms are more seasoned and hence more comfortable. Just that upon closer look, you see the various pin holes... where they use to pin their badges? HAHAOriginally posted by huaiwei:Muahaha...as usual?

Originally posted by huaiwei:And watsmore, the cutting seems slightly different too....both my SPF and NPCC trousers are size 5, but while both fits round my waist comfortably, the former gives more room to my family jewels, while the later is almost figure hugging!
good for fit peopleOriginally posted by huaiwei:So I am not the only one.
When I happened to mention I was wearing the NPCC one during one of my patrols, it was enough to cause my two collegues seated in front to turn back and stare...as thou they can see a difference?
Anyway it is true lah....the NPCC one already wear until super seasoned liao....and it does actually look smarter too due to it being so well-ironed. But the problem is the location of the belt loop is a little different, so my baton seems a little too much to the front, for eg.

Haha... yeah I agree. But you see such people everywhere lah.Originally posted by anthony77:I've seen cops whose pants are so loose they look like clowns. The pants should be tailored to give a comfortable fit and the uniform will then look smart.

Fit dosent mean good figure what. Anyway wear too fitting not very healthy also lah...if you know what I mean!Originally posted by houndy:good for fit people
Just too bad lah, but current "fashion trends" has meant that fitting attire is passe, especially for uniforms? Just look at photos of policemen as late as 10 years ago, and the differences can be seen liao.Originally posted by malcolmloke:Haha... yeah I agree. But you see such people everywhere lah.
Sometimes it's not their fault, the tailor takes so long to tailor and if they are to issue you with "instant" off-the-shelf ones, you may not get your right size.
Aiyah some of these tailors also do uniforms for other organisations wad. Maybe other uniforms are baggy in nature, then when it comes back to making police uniforms, they forgot to switch mindsets?Originally posted by huaiwei:Just too bad lah, but current "fashion trends" has meant that fitting attire is passe, especially for uniforms? And yes, its true about the tailor taking their own sweet time, as mine is doing now. Something must be wrong with their QC, but it seems like supposedly similar sized pants (at least in terms of waist size) have differing cuttings and can look baggy or fitting depending on your luck!

Anyway some of my VSC collegues finally got their uniforms today....some say they waited 4 months. They got the new-style uniforms alright, except that the name tag is still not ready.
Forgot to check if they got that side pocket on the trousers thou...
Haha... skali forget to take out the metal plates and horse shoes under the boots.Originally posted by anthony77:I took out my NPCC Uniform and realise I can't even fit into my NPCC Uniform anymore
Will be keeping a lookout for the new uniform..especially the pants with the side pocket. I think it'll look weird initally. Takes some getting used to.

I can almost imagine the scene of someone trying to squeeze into an NPCC uniform.....not a nice sight.Originally posted by anthony77:I took out my NPCC Uniform and realise I can't even fit into my NPCC Uniform anymore

You happen to be a regular now?
Anyways I was also told that for my VSC bunch of ppl, we will have to wait for the tailor to come to our division and measure all of us. I have absolutely no idea how long that is going to take, when I also have no idea how long they will take to actually finish sewing up my uniform!
cause it cost money to have more than one tailor... in the civil service they want the cheapest, the best tender... come on..where in the world is there cheap and good stuff....Originally posted by anthony77:Nah I'm not a regular. Just happen to have interest (most probably started from my NPCC days)
I guess the civil service still got quite some way to go to get their act together to be more efficient. Wonder why can't they have a list of tailors to choose from instead of just one bottleneck..
The side pocket is not very visible though...makes no difference..maybe they going to issue us with a PDA to put it there...mobile screening...that will be good...Originally posted by huaiwei:Diao....

As for the PDA which is also known as MPOD, is to be put into the side pocket...Originally posted by houndy:The side pocket is not very visible though...makes no difference..maybe they going to issue us with a PDA to put it there...mobile screening...that will be good...

SPF also pro-family now... Made a maternity dress for femalesOriginally posted by qazplm:Mr Anthony,
perhaps you wont understand why some officers choose to have their pants loose...
Tailored made uniforms are actually more appropriate for those who are working in the office.
most officers who are patrolling or "active" in their course of duty will prefer to have their pants looser. I don't deny that the "loose pants" will cause the image to look less smart, but its not practical to wear those tailored made pants for patrol.
I believe PHQ is looking into this as they have actually received feedbacks from the public regarding our uniforms. They have actually implemented a maternity dress for our female counterparts as uniform earlier this year.
Cheers....
Any idea what it looks like, and when they are going to impliment it?Originally posted by qazplm:As for the PDA which is also known as MPOD, is to be put into the side pocket...
Hmm.....officially tailored uniforms are more fitting? I remember when I was measuring my uni, I could sort of specify how fitting I want my pants to be? Unless of coz all those folks ask for fitting uniforms.Originally posted by qazplm:Mr Anthony,

If can screen....wah no need to jam up the radio liao. It might end up being super quiet thou.
