I don't think Jackie Chan (the character he's playing) is a sergeant. There are 3 pips both on his shoulder board each. He is a senior inspector. Dont worry, Glock will be use in matter of time for men on the grounds. Though I think that many forces around the world still require all to join as PC and slowly work their way up. Although Degree holders are promoted very fast to the senior ranks? Just my guess. -
but they pay really good. My HK friend said that a job in the civil service is always an iron rice bowl, provided you do not get checked by the ICAC. Their standard of living is high, so paid more. They make about twice as much as us in terms of salary.

Not exactly. My friend is paid a little more than S$2k and he is a HKU graduate. I think they pay the policemen so well because of the higher inherent risk in their job. Well if you have at least read a little reviews on it, the synopsis, and the trailers, you might have expected the movie to be littered with cop corpses.
I would just say that you will be dissapointed if that is what you want to see! -
