We only meet each other once a week, because his work is busy (that what he said). his hp is off often when i call him, the reason he give me is he can not receive call when on boat. Is it true?
Sometimes he even work whole night. Is it normal for PCG?
Wrong! PCG also have the same same working pattern as yours.... except STS....Originally posted by houndy:hmmm PCG is crap lah...they only sleep in the boat.. .. ok lah back to the real thing... they work one day rest one day....if i am not wrong.. hp is switch off probably cause it might interfere with the equipments on board plus if you near malaysia you be paying foreign rates. work whole night is normal for shift workers... esp police officers..dont worry he aint cheating you...

Yes, this is what i want.or you can actually know more of his colleagues so you can ask them in the future?
can not ask his colleagues lah, his colleagues will wondering why i do not trust my bf (even though i really do not trust him very much ), then it is not good to my bf, right?
Or you MIGHT want to get help from forumites whom are from PCG?

bluff...Originally posted by joyce80:heard about that before, but my bf told me it is not true.
well....it is a normal job...Originally posted by joyce80:so, PCG or POLICE OFFICER, how is your job? is it interesting?
you mean my bf bluff or ' sleep on boat" is bluffOriginally posted by houndy:bluff...
Like what? say lah... btw, are you a PCG?Originally posted by houndy:you see things people dont see
Not surprising that your bf dosent like to share his work experiences. Not everyone are quite comfortable about revealing too much on what they do while on duty...because some topics are just too sensitive to reveal as as far as the jobscope is concerned, or maybe the topics can freak out their loved ones?Originally posted by joyce80:Like what? say lah... btw, are you a PCG?
my bf dont like to talk about his job. but he tould me once he saw e body....e
Haha.. isn't it ironic? You encouraged Joyce to ask her bf about his jobscope and now you are saying many are not comfortable abt sharing. And now you yourself not comfortable about telling your mom.Originally posted by huaiwei:Not surprising that your bf dosent like to share his work experiences. For example, I am definitely not going to tell my mum that I had to escort a mental patient from one hospital to another recently, coz she has very little tolerence for danger and deviancy in general? I have not seen a dead body yet...muahahah.
Haha.....its not exactly a contradiction lah. I would think it helps alot to understand things from both perspectives? Being willing to ask is one thing loh. Knowing why and what he might want to reveal, and then knowing what kind of questions to ask first before getting to the root of the issue might be a good strategy to take loh.Originally posted by malcolmloke:Haha.. isn't it ironic? There are many things that are sensitive due to the nature of the job. So how and where do you draw the line? What can be said what can't?
Ya but still.. where to draw the line of what can be said what cannot?Originally posted by huaiwei:Haha.....its not exactly a contradiction lah. Not easy lah, but no one ever said a relationship has to be an easy walk in the park thingy right?
Hmm...personally I would consider two things. OSA (plus PGO, PPPO, and all that kind of stuff), and the person I am talking to in the first place loh (as in, in terms of trust, how receptive he/she is to the information given, and what he wants to know it for, etc). Obviously there is no hard and fast rule as to where the line is drawn, and whether one actually wishes to stick more to one or the other of the above two factors is a matter of personal integrity and accountability with regards to his profession, yet knowing that he has to reassure his loved ones and manage his private life at the same time?Originally posted by malcolmloke:Ya but still.. where to draw the line of what can be said what cannot?
