Videocam on a flight

Would I be committing any offence if I were to operate a videocam during a flight, especially during takeoff and landing? We are told use of electronic devices during those times are prohibited. But a search in youtube shows otherwise, even from those who pilot the planes themselves!!!
Anybody in the know can confirm this please?

Yes. The people hurt in that fight can practical sue you for doing nothing...
