Di'no' would like to seek opinion from the floor.........
Di'no' wonder if it is wrong should fresh grads demand for high renumeration package even though they have minimal or no exposure at all????
Personally, Di'no' b'lif that current local mkt is somewhat more favorable towards the employers.....thus, dn think it's likely to ask for the sky....
Moreover, graduates are aplenty in S'pore n no longer scarce liao.....

my personal view is....
1) uni grad should be paid alot lower than what they are paid now.....$2.5 to 3k plus is abit siao for a fresh grad with no experience but Ace all his exam...
2) after afew yrs of experience yes they can ask as high as what they feel they are worth... it's up to the market to decide....
3) Employer should stop looking at papers only......a scholar are usually not the best in the market...
4) Employer should stop thinking employee are a cost to them...coz without them... they are NOTHING.....so if that staff is good pay him well even if he is young and without all the papers......if not... company dun make money dun blame us... blame urself dunno how to employ talent....

Employer should not look at grades nia. So what if that guy has GPA 7? F**k him if he can't get the job done either. Pui!

i think..they should look overall..not just the...cert.or whatever .
so what if he have everything but his attidue..arent right...
some might not be as good..but they are willing to learn..n strive..

Worse still, Di'no' even encounter undergrads who's not even willing to start from doing ground work....insisting that their qualification shld ensure that they start from mgt level.....

it's not really 'wrong' to expect higher..
imagine the time and money spend on getting a degree and etc...
and when u come out to the working world..u dun feel justify if u r asked to do saikang and etc...naturally will expect higher..
i think give n take lah...although degree holders a lot..but employers shd not 'take advantage' saying things like..if u dun wan the job..still got other people will wan to do.. -
i tink nwadays experience is important aso...most employers tend to employ diploma + experience than degree with 0 experience. bcos cheaper n can make them do more work...if degree + experience then will b gd.bt normaly like management level then gt high pay......hwever if oni come out v short time, better to start frm ground n learn the skills liao then run...gd to gain experience when young...tink sg normaly consider local univ..like NUS, NTU priority first...than overseas univ..u may b suprise some of local univ salary nt more than $2500 dn wan to work...i tink market rate is around $2200 starting pay for local grads..depends on which area u r in aso.. like IT area nt necessary need local degree or wat...degree frm informatics etc aso recognise in private sectors...cos they see ur skills n knowledge more...know hw to study n score high grades & know hw to do the work is totally different.if u can work well, they sure promote u all the way..even though u are frm diploma dn hav degree , masters or watever.... sometimes need luck aso...
