Storyline
"God! Please Give Me More Time" is a very touching Japanese drama series. A realistic drama on Japanese TV that takes HIV and teenage girls who have sex to make money to a new perspective. Known as the drama that launched the career of Fukada Kyoko and the drama that jumpstarted Kaneshiro Takeshi's Japanese career, "Kamisama, mou sukoshi dake" is a very good and dark drama.
As its title suggests, it is a story about desperation for longevity. Kyoko Fukada is excellent as an aimless Tokyo high school girl, who in love with a long-haired and pensive music producer portrayed by Takeshi Kaneshiro. She admires him so much that she engages in a night of prostitution just to get the money to attend one of his concerts. After the concert, she manages to meet Kaneshiro and spend the night with him. Three months later she learns she is HIV-positive. What makes the tale more tragic is that her liaison with her idol has turned her life around. She has given up hanging around Ikebukuro in favor of her studies. She has goals and dreams now and Kaneshiro, back from a three-month world tour, is still interested in her. The desperate lovers call upon God to give them more time together.....
Review
this was my first ever drama that i watched and i have never regretted my choice. the story was very dark and showed how people's perspective is changed the moment after learning they are HIV positive. throughout this drama, you will see kyoko character trying to focus on her life ambitions instead of her disease and her relationship with kaneshiro character was simply heartwrenching. they really made the show look very real and coupled with excellent instrumental music makes it even better while watching it. I highly recommend watching it but it's very sad!
