I can imagine the coins being sucked into a dark hole as "miscellaneous fees" already..
The Malay community is very close-knit - I can only guess that they are very willing to show their support.
I honestly liked Sylvia more, though.
I think the she can sing so much
better then the kid
Sylvia is a much better singer, but then again, it's racial, like I said in an earlier post.

Some voters are indeed dumb.
I feel so too. I support Sylvia.
My vote is for sylvia too.
Actually, the person need not be a winner to be famous.
If the popularity is there and Sylvia signs a record company, she can also make it big.
i think the ger is better
though i sarpok neither

malays spend like there's no tomorrow. Same in malaysia, same in indonesa......i wonder why. This singapore idol thing is a farce already. Racial demographics are at work here.
I doubt there will be a Season 4.

Cha bo.
slyvia is a bitch! Tabitha should be there instead of her
Proud of Sezairi.
It's more of a popularity contest than a talent contest. Whoever gets more votes wins - it's as simple as that. It's not a true gauge of talent. And it's partly for that reason that I don't watch the Idol franchise and its ilk. A lot of gifted, original and maverick musicians out there who don't have a huge following would probably not last on such shows.

That is why I have stopped watching.
sometimes when i switch on the tv, i thought i've pressed on the wrong button which ends me up at suria instead, or has Anugerah shifted to channel 5?
It would be naive to think that voters casted their votes solely on the performance of the night itself. If sg idol 4 also produces a malay winner, then may i suggest that the votes of sg idol 4 be analysed in terms of race and repetitions by the same house/mobile number. If it does suggest that the vote numbers were inclined towards a certain race, then perhaps to be fair, we should have a one man one vote system.
Of course, that wouldn't happen cos less calls means less revenue lol. So at the end of the day, sg idol screws itself and risks becoming a farce.
Let me just sum up everything:
Singapore Idol is a popularity contest and not a talent contest. In the end, it is the one with the most popularity who wins. That explains why terrible singers like Sylvester Sim and Joakim Gomez can make it so far in previous years.
Like it or not, the selection process for the winner was via fully democratic means. He who has the greater number of supporters wins. If Sezali won because he had more supporters, then so be it. That is what democracy is all about. Capice?
By the way, this is precisely the reason why I stayed away from SG Idol from the very beginning - because the contest is no true measure of singing aptitude, and the democratic process of the contest favours popularity over talent.
Dun blame the contestants or their race.
The idol won through popularity and not necessary talent.
It is a show that SUCK money that is why they have money to have it in the indoor stadium.
It is the same effect for the Ren Ci and NKF show.
