Last time TV3 used to have stock indices scrolling text like what we have on Channel Newsasia, and also there was a seperate Business News segment in Buletin 1.30 on Monday to Thursday. Now there is only Business News segment at 5.30, and Nightline, the rest of it are in Malay on Buletin Utama and Buletin 1.30.Originally posted by sbst275:No wonder... RTM's TV2 Channel Extends Broadcast To 19 Hours Daily From May 2
Radio Television Malaysia (RTM)'s televesion channel TV2 -"Your Family's Channel"- will increase its broadcast time by three hours to 19 hours daily from May 2.
Information Minister Datuk Seri Kadir Sheikh Fadzir in a statement here Thursday said that the extra hours would be filled with various programmes to suit the tastes of the Malaysian public.
He said that with the increased airtime, TV2 would now commence broadcasts from 6 am daily instead of 9 pm as now.
Viewers will be able to catch a wide variety of attractive programmes before normal broadcasts from 9 am to 1 am the next day, he said.
Kadir said that the extra time would be used to schedule programmes of a motivational type like "Positively A.M.", which would be broadcast Mondays through Thursdays, for viewers to start the day on the right note.
Others include "Kembara Ria Malaysia" a travel programme and "Body and Soul" for the people's wellness. A news and current affairs programme using news agencies, NHK of Japan and Asiavision as sources, will also be slotted in from 7.45 am to 8 am.
Kadir said that the increase in the airtime of TV2 was in line with the rebranding of the station last Aug 20 which aimed at providing value added programmes to loyal viewers.
He added that it was also in line with efforts to make TV2 truly a channel to strengthen the family institution and society so that Malaysians continued to be progressive, dynamic and lived harmoniously. -

I found out that 8TV 7pm slot is repeating dramas previously shown on TV3 6pm slot before. ( Correct me if I am wrong )

Good programmes, don't need to be repeated, even if they were shown in the wee hours, viewers will still watch it. -
