This show was being touted to showcase the creativity of S'porean.
After watching 2 weeks of this S'pore version of Chao Ji Bianx3... My heart felt chillingly cold.
First the judges, why the FARK is a barber Andy Tan asked to be a judge?
Keep complimenting on how cute the secondary school guys look when they cross-dress. Farking GAY!
Then it's the showcase. I dunno if it's the school kids' ideas or issit their teacher's ideas, but ALL of them lack ideas!
The props look ugly and amateur. No good surprises. Props look like they can be reused for the next school play. 10+ school kids cant even present a decent showcase!
Alot of blame must go to their school and teachers. Where are the support?! If the kids have limited ideas, why cant the teachers provide extra ideas to them. It's no use saying "Wo Yong Yuan Zhi Chi Ni" at the VCR playbacks.
I really hope we can see good stuff from the open category. If the school category is the best we can offer, it just shows that S'pore still not up to par.
Just look at their Taiwan & Japan counterpart, some one man show can be so nice. Simple props can be effectively spring surprises. If lotsa people are involved, at least the props are good and the made full use of the numbers to create epic looking showcases.
Some Japan/Taiwan showcases. E.g Bullet train ride, A Beautiful breakfast, Mommy & her toddler, etc.
