Thanks for ur suggestion, but i am in Integrated Programme, so no need to take O Level. Anyone from IP also? can tell me how to go JC without having to work on NCC?Originally posted by LazerLordz:Whoever said that you need a CCA to go JC, it's only if your grades are not good and you need those LEAP points to pull you up.
Work hard and score those grades, and don't give a damn to your CCA.
IP eh..can't help you there.Originally posted by huaqing:Thanks for ur suggestion, but i am in Integrated Programme, so no need to take O Level. Anyone from IP also? can tell me how to go JC without having to work on NCC?

However, they dun allow me quit hor, then it is like they very extra leh, you know, it is like forcing people to be in NCC leh...so i feel very uncomfortable...
In my school u only need to have one. But i got two CCAs, another one is Choir, and i enjoy that.Originally posted by kenshin_himura:me too must have 2 ccas mah. one uniform one sports.. NCC was the onli one availiable.. not so popular among the 12 uniform grps

Since you already have one. Bring this up to ur principal or someone. That you dun wish to stay lar..Originally posted by huaqing:In my school u only need to have one. But i got two CCAs, another one is Choir, and i enjoy that.
I really hate this NCC thingy lah, everything they also want u to do well in NCC, then pump u like siao...besides, the NCOs are very good at spreading propaganda to us, like "if this time we cannot get 20 marksman then everyone pump 70" and things like that...
I have two friends in NCC who also wanna quit, and one of them stopped coming to NCC trainings already. However, the NCC teacher in charge says that when other ppl are having training then he must go and see the teacher and get detention. ALso, it is said that although my friend dun hav to go to trainings anymore, whether he can go to JC or not remained to be a problem to him.
What shall i do? Haiz, realli wanna leave this hell soon!
How can you get detention for skipping CCA training..times have really changed..the schools these days..have lost all meaning.Originally posted by huaqing:In my school u only need to have one. But i got two CCAs, another one is Choir, and i enjoy that.

well i will bring this issue to my principal.Originally posted by Pitot:Since you already have one. Bring this up to ur principal or someone. That you dun wish to stay lar..
On a side note, Coporal punishment is not allowed in NPCC. I wonder if it applies to NCC too. Can ask someone to check it out.Originally posted by huaqing:well i will bring this issue to my principal.
However, there was this assembly on a particular Monday when the whole sec 1 discussed the CCA issue.
Then some ppl said they wanna quit CCAs like NCC and track and field, and told the principal that they have already told the CCA teacher that they wanna quit, but the principal only said that he will ask the CCA teacher to look into the matter and said no more.
Well, if people are given the choice to join/leave freely, then the corporal punishment should not be such an issue, because they join willingly to experience a military style CCA.Originally posted by Pitot:On a side note, Coporal punishment is not allowed in NPCC. But apparently parents nowadays are not agreeing on this..Originally posted by LazerLordz:Well, if people are given the choice to join/leave freely, then the corporal punishment should not be such an issue, because they join willingly to experience a military style CCA.
But if it's such a system as described as Huaqing, then I'm all for kicking corporal punishment out.
It's refreshing to hear that from someone your age, coz many do not see what NCC is all about in the first place.Originally posted by Pitot:But apparently parents nowadays are not agreeing on this..
Kids these days are soft.. too soft..
Most schools require a student to have a CCA if someone where to join and it is his only cca, he will have no where to go if he quits..Originally posted by LazerLordz:It's refreshing to hear that from someone your age, coz many do not see what NCC is all about in the first place.
But again, it should be a voluntary choice to join and leave, not enforced or threatened.
he's worried about making a big issue.Originally posted by hisoka:well you did the right thing by posting it here name the skool and all too if its really as you say it. if the principal don't do anything you should go to the press...........
true i suppose but his friend's case about detention is really dumb..... maybe he can make noise after he grads after all O lvls is not revocable by the skool unlike the stupid university degreeOriginally posted by LazerLordz:he's worried about making a big issue.
Anyway, there are only a few schools with IP here.
