The Marylebone High Street Christmas lights will be turned on in a festive display of Winter Wonderland this November.
With a magical star in the form of Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter, the switching on of the Christmas lights in Marylebone High Street will a fabulous start to the Christmas season in London. With carols, a Christmas grotto and plenty of entertainment, you'll want to be there to see the lights being switched on.
The Winter Wonderland theme of the Marylebone High Street has been created with the Harry Potter star in mind. Bonnie Wright plays the auburn haired Ginny, one of the notorious Weasley children who all have some tricks up their sleeves in the Harry Potter novels. You can experience some of the wizardly magic here at Marylebone High Street as there will be plenty of street performers and festive entertainers.
Before the Christmas lights are switched on, there will be a carol concert from local children on the Marylebone High Street stage, continuing with more live music afterwards. A whole host of festive activities will be taking place on the day, with many stands and stalls lining the street.
Mulled wine will be on offer to stave off the winter chill, and of course there will be mince pies to accompany them, provided by Waitrose. Hot food will come from the Prince Regent, Le Pain Quotidien and Eat and 2 Veg who will have stands on the High Street. With all the festive food and wine to keep you in the Christmas spirit, you'll find plenty of things to entertain you.
As you walk down Marylebone High Street to appreciate the Christmas lights, you can see the added extras of the special Christmas decorations in all the shop windows. Plus, there will be the judging of a Christmas card design competition that will see one winner picked from hundreds of entries to win some fabulous festive prizes.
And of course no switching on of Christmas lights in London would be complete without the addition of Father Christmas. He will be in his Christmas grotto getting ready to check his list of good nad bad children, and your kids can visit him and recieve a present from 4pm onwards.
To round off the special celebrations that accompany the Marylebone High Street Christmas lights, there will be an amazing display of fireworks. In truly festive style, the fireworks will add the atmosphere of yuletide fun.
