i still think people who come up with nonsense in order to get others into trouble for their own profit or agenda, should be charged in court
hmmm... interesting thread..
Is SW, by any chance, a fan of yoga?
Perjury is an offence, but it seems that our press aren't interested in covering such cases - if the perpetuators are tried in the first place.
I am not a lawyer but in another forum, someone who says he is a lawyer said they perjury charges could be filed against SW/family. The SW easily received a settlement from SingTel so she thought this is another easy case. I hope ST is following the case and sue her for her deceitful medical history and return of the money they paid with interest!
How come Mediacorp never recruited her ah? Her acting better than so many of their top actors!
I agree with you Kuali Baba that our press isn't interested in covering such cases. In the beginning they were all so excited as they thought its another case to drag the Church down. But once its clear that the SW and family has no intergrity and are money greedy liars and cheats, they lost interest.
i don't think the press had any malice against the church...
it's a matter of this:
Dog bites Man - not news
Man bites Dog - news
Man bites Dog (each day for 3 weeks) - not news
No, not malice. But often, the press are rather careless. When I was not so familiar with the Catholic Church, I didn't have a good impression from reading newspapers and from listening to Protestant pastors and some protestant friends.
Anyway the press is only really careful when it comes to one religion!

haha, good one! Especially in this case, we have the lawyer, the SW and her tiger so-called sworn brother! Sorry for posting again but I forgot to mention in my earlier post that I was at the Courthouse yesterday. Fr Simon did a great job on the stand. What a contrast to the way the SW and her family conducted themselves. Fr Simon rocks!
Ya boy! He's cool, unlike Prof Ong.
wow you were there? *envious*
Too much work to do. Can't take leave. I wish so much to go and support the two Frs.
Did anyone see the shot of Fr Simon jay walking on the news. I was laughing my socks off.
For anyone who has characterized Fr Simon from what you heard from the media, I invite you to hear one of his sermons, it's freaking hilarious! He uses Teochew anecdotes to illustrate his assertions.

We could mill around outside during the lunch break. Throw in a few Pinocchio's noses for good measure.

Haha. I don't know contempt of court. But I know that people will be charged for creating laughter in court.
