SINGAPORE : Singapore's five polytechnics are coming together to promote engineering as a career with the first-ever Engineering Week.
The event will see workshops, talks and demonstrations at all five polytechnics to encourage post-secondary students to take up engineering.
There are currently almost 200,000 jobs in engineering-related positions.
Successful engineering graduates will also be sharing their insights on their careers and passion for engineering.
The Economic Development Board also announced the launch of a website called Aspirations to provide more information to guide students in their choices.
The site is an interactive portal with the latest information on various industries such as electronics, precision engineering, transport and chemicals.
It will also contain real-life accounts of what engineers do at work and provide opportunities for students to post questions to industry experts. - CNA
