SINGAPORE: Singaporeans' sexual activities may be among the world's lowest, but the work of Singapore doctors in the field of sexual medicine and impotence research is definitely top among their peers.
In fact, as recognition of Singapore as a pioneering and leading Asian centre in this area and its contribution in the world arena, Dr Ganesan Adaikan, a clinical sexologist from the National University Hospital, has been elected as the 8th President of the International Society for Sexual Medicine.
He is the first Asian to be appointed to that post.
As President of ISSM, Dr Adaikan, who's also a professor with the National University of Singapore's Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, will be coordinating the work of some 100 international experts in this field.
Dr Adaikan, who is a world renowned expert in the field of erectile dysfunction, is also looking into boosting research on improving treatment and patient care for sexual dysfunctions in both men and women. - CNA
