SINGAPORE : A 47-year-old man has been charged with making bomb hoaxes involving Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew's house.
Ganesan Singa Ravel allegedly called the police at the 999 hotline three times within 15 minutes on Saturday morning.
The unemployed Tampines resident was said to have made the first call at 4:44am from the 7-Eleven store at Orchard Towers.
The second call was made from a public phone at basement one of the same building six minutes later, and the third, just before 5am, from a public phone outside the nearby Thai Embassy.
Ganesan was also said to have used vulgar words, and insulted the officers who answered the calls.
He was arrested outside Orchard Towers at 6:15am.
The Singaporean claimed he was drunk when the calls were made.
Ganesan will have his case heard again on December 14.
If found guilty, he faces a fine of up to $50,000 and up to seven years in jail or both. - NewsRadio 93.8
