SINGAPORE : Computer hackers are now spreading a new virus by using a picture attachment which shows the burial of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
Trend Micro, an antivirus research and support centre, says the virus called "Worm Golten" is being mass e-mailed to specific e-mail addresses.
Overall, "Worm Golten" is being rated as a low-risk threat.
But it has been given a high risk rating for its distribution potential.
The virus comes with two attachments.
The email comes with a subject heading saying "Latest News about Arafat".
By opening one of the file attachments, it will drop the "Worm Golten" into a system.
The worm propagates itself through networks by gaining access to computers connected in the network and by copying itself.
It is also able to install files downloaded from outside the infected network to help spread the virus. - CNA
