Beneficiaries and celebrities to perform in Community Chest

Sunday's Community Chest fund-raiser show True Hearts, the celebrities will not be the only ones in the limelight.
Beneficiaries from various welfare organisations will be joining in the fun as well.
The Community Chest hopes the combination of star power and the inspiring performances by the beneficiaries themselves will touch the hearts of generous Singaporeans.
The phone lines open on Saturday for call-in donations and these can be made right up till 28th November.
The donations will benefit 58 welfare groups.
To catch the heart-stopping high-wire acts, you can tune to MediaCorp's Channel 8 at 7pm on Sunday. - CNA -

SINGAPORE : Celebrities and beneficiaries from various welfare organisations came together in a charity drive to raise money for the Community Chest.
They performed in the True Hearts show held at Jurong East Stadium on Sunday evening.
The show was also shown live on MediaCorp's Channel 8.
Joining the disabled were celebrities from overseas, local corporate partners as well as MediaCorp's stars.
As at 9.56pm, $1.17 million were raised from the more than 110,000 calls which came in. The funds will benefit 58 welfare groups.
To do their bit for charity, callers can call the following numbers - 1900-112-6888 for a $88 donation, 1900-112-6828 for a $28 donation and 1900-112-6808 for a $8 donation.
The donation lines will remain open till November 28. - CNA -

The last time my sister went to help out at one of these charity events, I get to know that only a (small) part of the donation actually goes into the fund, the rest are for admin, advert, blah blah...
