SINGAPORE : The Grand Final of MediaCorp's Singapore Idol is shrouded with mystery as producers keep a tight lid on what songs the finalists will sing.
But Channel NewsAsia takes a sneak peak at what has been going on at the recording studios.
For the past week, Singapore Idol finalists Taufik Batisah and Sylvester Sim have been keeping late nights doing recording after recording - all this for a spectacular finale on December 1.
Both will sing a specially composed song, but all details about the song are kept secret.
Taufik and Sylvester will sing three songs each, with Taufik singing first.
The first is of their choice, another picked by the judges and both of them will sing the third song, each rendering their own style and intepretation of the song.
The eventual winner will get to record that song.
Sylvester said: "I was having fun but it is tiring, it is a recording, everything has got to be perfect because it is going to be out in some stores some day if I win."
Taufik said: "I'm prepared to stay up just to perfect the song, do it my style and I hope I get better because I'm starting to sound a bit nasal now."
And fans are also in for a treat, as the other nine eliminated Idol finalists will make a comeback, singing a medley of songs.
Mr Iskandar Ismail, Music Director of Singapore Idol, said: "I get a chance to really stretch my arranging capabilities from hip-hop to rock and roll to jazz to swing, you name it. It's very interesting."
So even though the contest is over for some of the idol finalists, they are glad to be one happy family again. - CNA
