2nd man in high-profile drug bust jumps bail, arrest warrant issued
SINGAPORE: A second person in the high-profile cocaine case has failed to show up in court.
35-year-old technician Hamdan Mohd has skipped bail which was posted by his sister, Saedah Mohd.
The $20,000 bail has been forfeited.
A warrant of arrest has been issued for Hamdan.
Hamdan was arrested in October together with several others, including Sri Lankan Jeremy Mahen Chanmugam who had also failed to turn up for his court date last week.
Police say Hamdan's passport was not impounded as he was a Singaporean, and records show that he has not left the country.
Hamdan's lawyer said his family last saw him on Thursday and he did not show up for a scheduled meeting with the lawyers on Monday.
Hamden instead left a letter for his family, saying that he felt he had no future in Singapore. - CNA
