New SBS buses on your way

  SINGAPORE : A new fleet of double deckers could hit the roads by the second half of next year.
  
  SBS Transit has ordered 150 new double-deck buses from Swedish truck maker Volvo at a cost of S$60 million.
  
  The public bus operator says the new buses will be used to replace its existing older ones.
  
  SBS has around 2,700 buses, of which 66 percent are made by Volvo.
  
  This purchase is significant for Volvo, as it marks the first major order for its new double-deck chassis.
  
  Volvo says the 150 chassis will be built in Sweden, while the bodies will be manufactured in Singapore by ComfortDelGro Engineering.
  
  Delivery of the complete buses will begin in August next year.
  
  And this will continue for 12 months before SBS receives all 150 double-deckers. - CNA

  If I am not wrong, this model looks like Volvo Super Olympians but they are not called VSO for some reasons.

  Actually they can be considered as VSOs BUT it is because of the engine capacity dif as B9TL is 9.4 lit while the actual VSO is 10 lit....

  You can see them at ComfortDelGro if you are lucky... I saw them bef leaving for HK last week... Saw the B7R also...

  For godness sake,the difference between a B9TL and a B10TL is not only because of the engine,BUT because of the positioning of the radiator.

  How do you know that the "B9TL" that you claimed that you saw was a B9TL judging from your knowledge about buses?It might jolly well be a B10TL going for route service.If you would want to know,the B9TL are going to come during August 2005,stop being such a daydreamer.
