SINGAPORE : Singapore Airlines has joined in to help airlift relief supplies to tsunami-hit areas.
On Wednesday night, flight SQ402 to Colombo carried 12 tonnes of relief supplies to Colombo, while another seven tonnes were sent to Thailand on a Bangkok flight.
SIA says the public has been asking for free or subsidised cargo space to affected countries.
The airline says it will work with the Singapore Red Cross and the Foreign Ministry to coordinate the sending of such relief supplies.
SIA will also transport supplies from other countries in Europe and the United States to the affected countries. - CNA
