SINGAPORE : More Singaporeans, who were reportedly in the tsunami-struck areas on Boxing Day, have been contacted.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, those uncontactable have been narrowed from 51 on Monday to 30 on Tuesday afternoon.
The number of Singaporeans dead remains at nine.
Twelve others are missing, all in Thailand.
As at 1pm on Tuesday, the number of Singaporeans that are now contactable has increased to 1775.
The MFA requests that relatives and friends of Singaporeans who had travelled to the affected areas, but who were uncontactable earlier, to call the 24-hour Singapore Contact Centre.
