More activities at River Hong Bao carnival to attract the yo

SINGAPORE : Organisers of the annual River Hong Bao carnival are pulling all the stops to attract the young to revel in festivities at Marina Promenade.
Besides the traditional light-up and giant Fortune God centrepiece, there will also be tentages set up to host games and activities to herald in the Lunar New Year.
The 17-day long event, starting from February 7, will cost some $2 million.
Other highlights include a Chinese wedding exhibition, cultural shows from Mongolian and Taiwanese troupes, as well as special performances by Singapore Idol winner Taufik Batisah and finalist Sylvester Lim.
One million people are expected to attend the River Hong Bao carnival. - CNA
