SINGAPORE : Contact Centres to locate Singaporeans missing in the tsunami disaster will close from Tuesday.
The centres in Singapore and Phuket, which have been operating since January 12, will close as there are no more new cases.
But there are still eight people listed as uncontactable.
Police said these people were reportedly in the affected countries but investigations have found no evidence to suggest they are in the areas hit by the tsunami.
Still, it says it will continue its efforts to locate them.
In Singapore, police officers and counsellors will continue to maintain contact with next-of-kin to keep them updated on new developments.
To date, there are nine dead and 15 missing Singaporeans. - CNA
