SINGAPORE : To welcome the Lunar New Year, some Singaporeans will be making the trip to their hairdressers for that completely new look.
Pet owners are also taking their animal companions for that ultimate makeover.
After some coaxing, a restless Max finally settles down for his grooming session.
The maltese was given the full treatment - a pedicure, ear wash, shower.
And finally, some bright yellow orange highlights for his glossy coat - on his tail, back and head!
Most pet owners opt for temporary dyes so their pets can have a new look each time.
But the advice is to limit such colouring treatments to four times a year.
Hilda Loe, Pet Grooming Stylist, said: "Do not use hair dye for humans to be used on the dogs or the cats because the chemical ingredients are totally different and you would actually hurt the dog's coat or skin."
Pet owners are also warned against colouring their pets if they have sensitive skin or are not feeling well.
Stylists say overgrooming a dog or cat can also make it feel unwell.
But for bouncy Max, it seems his crowning glory is just the right shade for welcoming the Lunar New Year. - CNA
