SINGAPORE : Singapore's arts and cultural scene has blossomed, and gained some international recognition, says Information, Communications and the Arts Minister Lee Boon Yang.
At the Ministry's annual thank-you dinner for some 600 committee members, Dr Lee thanked them for their participation and contributions in giving the citizen's viewpoint to issues such as the recommendations of the Censorship Review Committee last year.
Dr Lee said while Singapore is now on the world arts map, there are still challenges ahead to bring more Singaporeans and tourists to the arts.
There will also be more to look forward to, when the Supreme Court and City Hall buildings are transformed into a world-class art gallery. - CNA
