SINGAPORE: The period for applications under the Joint Admissions Exercise to junior colleges, polytechnics, Centralised Institute and Institute of Technical Education has been extended till 6pm on Monday, March 7th.
The Education Ministry says it has been monitoring the application process since the registration started on February 28th, and has received feedback that many applicants have experienced slowness in accessing the system.
To address this, the ministry says it has boosted the system capacity.
It will also extend the application period by three days.
The Ministry says as of 4pm on Thursday, it has received 17,000 or almost 50% of the expected applications.
This is comparable to the percentage received over the same period last year.
The Ministry says it will continue to monitor the situation and take further measures if necessary, to ensure that all eligible students are able to submit their applications.
It advises them to do their registration early to avoid the last minute rush. - CNA
