SINGAPORE: A man was killed in a factory fire at Ubi Road on Friday.
The Civil Defence Force says the fire broke out in the production area on the 3rd floor of Meiban Industrial Building at about 6.40am.
It was put out in five minutes.
SCDF says the fire was confined to the production area near some plastic moulding machines.
About 25 workers were evacuated from the scene.
The company, Meiban Micro, makes plastic moulders.
Police have identified the dead man as Lim Yeau San, a Singapore permanent resident from Malaysia, who worked as a senior technician with the company.
He was believed to have been severely burnt.
Work in the factory has stopped and the area cordoned off.
Police and the SCDF are investigating the cause of the fire. - CNA
