Sentosa to revamp Palawan Beach to attract more visitors

SINGAPORE : Sentosa is planning a major revamp of Palawan Beach on the south of the island.
It is pumping $11 million into the project.
A light rail, when completed, will bring visitors straight to the beach.
There will be a new mix of food and beverage outlets, including a food court, a bar and a restaurant at the old Palawan Beach monorail station.
A 300-seat open-air ampitheatre featuring a mammal and bird show will also be built.
Sentosa also plans to provide ample shower, toilet and locker facilities to make it easier for families to enjoy the beach experience.
Working with HarbourFront on what will be the new VivoCity shopping mall, Sentosa hopes to attract some of the 30 million expected visitors over to the island.
Mr Gurjit Singh, Property Director of Sentosa, said: "At the Palawan Beach, we are focusing on the families to come onto the island and have a great time. And how do we do that? We actually diversified the experience on the island.
"While they are at the Palawan Beach, we're going to have shows, there will be a great culinary adventure for them. They can enjoy the beach, they can wade in a natural stream, we are going to create right through the development.
"So this differentiation is going to be the pivoting point in attracting, retaining and keeping people on the island longer." - CNA -

Hmmz....Sentosa not many attractions...they should really look into a theme park, something like Fantasy Island then....

Now part of Fantasy Island car park had become the Visitors Departure "Centre" ( Just a covered shelter area ), where the car park is "cha pa lang cha pa lang" made one, visitors and tourists got no where to hide when it rains accept to run for the shelter at the Visitor Dept. "Centre", which made the visitors get wet when transferring from Sentosa island bus to the buses for Harbour front at the Visitor Dept "Centre". -
