SINGAPORE : Singaporeans will soon be able to get poultry and eggs from approved farms in Selangor and Negri Sembilan.
The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) will resume poultry and egg imports from the two Malaysian states from April 14.
The move came after the AVA assessed that all the necessary measures had been put in place to establish and maintain the two states as bird flu-free zones.
This was similar to the approach adopted for lifting the ban on export of poultry and eggs from Johor, Malacca and Perak.
But AVA said the resumption of imports would only apply to commercial consignments from the accredited farms.
The ban on individuals bringing in poultry and poultry products from Malaysia still remains.
This is to ensure that only products from AVA-accredited sources in the bird flu-free zones are allowed to enter Singapore. - CNA
