SINGAPORE : Single mothers are given that extra leg up, with some help from "Project GEMS" which means "Going Extra Miles for Single Mums."
A money management workshop on Saturday offered free lessons to more than 100 single mums on how to stretch the dollar.
The programme aims to help them work out their spending priorities, and develop financial independence.
The event also gave them the opportunity to meet other single mums in similar situations.
Organisers said 80 percent of divorcees cited money as the most difficult problem in their lives, and Project GEMS helps them to handle double the responsibilities, with half the resources. - CNA/de
Hmm... Is this considered help?
