SINGAPORE : Electricity tariff will go up by an average of 2.2 cents per kilowatt (kWh) for the period July to September this year.
SP Services says the increase is due to the higher cost of electricity arising from higher fuel oil prices.
Electricity tariffs in Singapore are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
The next review will be in September.
SP Services also gave an update on its Pay-As-You-Use Metering Scheme introduced on May 16.
It says more than 350 households have signed up within the first month of its launch.
The scheme is to help families whose electricity supply has been disconnected to be reconnected and have their arrears paid over time.
It also helps households better manage their electricity usage. - CNA/de
